"LUCKILY for James Horwill, it was love at first sight for Robbie Deans when he eyed the big Queensland lock."

I really hope that Horwill isn't the captain of a sinking ship.

I just saw that fox sports has a video of Horwill post-Eden Park. His nose does not look good. Will have to wait to watch the video because Brendan wants to watch Idle Hands. I haven't seen that film since I was fourteen.

I don't like how one loss to the All Blacks causes most Wallabies fans to start tearing the team apart. If I was on the team I would be so tempted to turn around and ask if they could do any better. But I am hugely childish. Yes, it wasn't the greatest match we've played, but we weren't walked over either. Horwill cracked me up during the match, continuing to run on to the pitch despite the broken nose. Looks like he is planning on playing the next test against the Boks. (Girly part of me was grossed out/hoping that he is okay.)

Went to the Bendigo Wool Festival on Sunday. Yes, Mum and I are insane for driving that distance, but I did get some awesome skeins of sock wool. My first order from the Loopy Ewe arrived on the Tuesday that I got back, only one week after ordering it. Very impressed. I haven't knit with any of the wool yet (Dream in Colour, Malabrigo and Cherry Tree Hill), but I did use my sock blockers for my colinette monkeys. Have taken to opening the box that houses my sock yarn stash and just staring. The Malabrigo sock wool is so amazingly soft. I want to order every colour they make. I'm just waiting on Cookie A's book to arrive so I can combine lovely wool with awesome patterns.

Finished knitting my octopus Lucy today. (That is a normal sentence.) Also braved the dreaded sewing machine and sewed myself a bag to carry my small wips in. Used up some great material that I bought at a Spotlight sale about a year ago.

Possibly going to Bendigo Sheep and Wool show on the weekend. I have an awesome Mummy.

I've always planned to knit some cactuses (cacti?) from the Funky Knits book. Now I want to knit some grass from Gallifrey as well. I plan to use the tentacles from Hansi's octopus pattern that I'm knitting now. I'd love to have a piece of (fictional) Gallifrey to keep me company. Just thought I'd make a note of it so I don't forget about it.

School holidays time. Sweet, sweet sleeping in time. Didn't get as much work as I would have liked in the final week, but enough to fund my knitting, HIGNFY, Torchwood and other addictions.

Have been caught up watching Torchwood this week. It was really good, although part of me is smarting over the fact that Ianto died and Gwen is still around, but I don't think she is as annoying as she used to be. Oh, and I was completely stunned by the 456 using the children as drugs, but I thought it was really well done, Could've killed the MPs. Bastards. Sacrificing the lowest performing 10% of children. The teacher in me was ranting, as they tend to be the kids that I like to help the most when I'm teaching. Brendan and I went and got kebabs to watch the finale last night. He wasn't sick enough to say no to kebabs.

Sport is good at the moment. I'm enjoying Le Tour, my only complaint is that it has been on too late to watch and then get up and teach the next day. Also, hozzah! for the Australians doing well at the cricket. Is nice to see them performing so well again. Now just waiting for the Tri-Nations to start. I was tempted to buy a ticket, but have decided to stay at home in the warmth, where I can knit and relax. Plus, you don't get pervy close ups on the players at the game. *Fondly remembers Horwill patting Mortlock's butt in the last match*

I'm going over to Lizzeh's for dinner on Friday night, should be pretty good. I haven't seen my school friends since... well I can't remember the last time we got together, possibly my birthday in April? I tend to hang out with Beth more these days.

KNITTING UPDATE: I'm still knitting my hemlock ring blanket. I'm just a few rows off the fancy cast-off. I am digging the Bendigo Woollen Mills wool. Must remember to order from them again when I need large amounts of wool. When I get this finished I'm going to get back into knitting toys. I don't have any need for them, but I can't resist.

Argh!

French and Saunders was really good last night. I will be sad to see them go. I kept laughing so hard that I'd upset my throat and have a coughing fit. Comedy and colds do not mix. I loved Dawn French's chocoholic piece and the fights that they kept having about Ab Fab and the Vicar of Dibley.

Finished knitting my squirrely mittens today. They were my first colourwork piece. I think they went okay, although I'm not sure I'll be in a rush to do more. I like knitting lace much more.

I'm hoping to hear from the local high school soon.
